What is the most popular bibliometric tool for research university faculty?

According to a new survey from the Primary Research Group, Google Scholar is the most popular bibliometric tool, with 85% of faculty using it to measure an author’s influence and impact.

All faculty age 30 and younger reported using Google Scholar, but usage declined to 77% with faculty 60 years and older. Other bibliometric tools used by faculty were Web of Science, Scopus, ORCID ID, Thomson-Reuters Research ID, Scimago, Bepress, SciVal, JSTOR, SciFinder, arXiv, and CrossRef.
